Guild Ball - First Tournament

Hey readers, first off. I finished painting my guild ball team, as you can see above. Jac is missing from the photo but he is painted too. Anyways, a couple of work mates and I went to a local tournament at Gamagori last weekend. Total of 8 guild ball players turned up which made for a good turn out. I faced off against Brewers first (my first time against them as well) and unfortunately got a 10 - 12 loss (that's right sports fans, the fish got a take out against brewers.) against one of the guys I work with who then went on to win the tournament... so I didn't feel too bad. Second match against my other workmate bringing alchemists. 8 - 12 loss this time. One of the great things about this game is even a loss usually still feels like you're in the game right up to the last minute. On a side note ... when Midas steals "Unleash the ..." from Kraken you're going to have a bad time.

My last game was a 12 - 8 win and it was a Fishermen perfect mirror match. Same exact teams. I felt pretty confident as my opponent was not overly familiar with fish while this was the team I had the most play time with. In the end it was Shark who broke away for the final goal ending yet another close match. All in all it was a really fun day, got to play against Brewers for the first time and while I had heard about it I was still surprised at the amount of damage they can put out in a turn.

At the end of the day I had a lot of fun, met some great players and may have been talked into joining a league, but I will keep you posted on that if I do.
