While Malifaux helps scratch the itch of a great in-depth strategic wargame where each turn you're planning how to best achieve your goals, this game leans more towards a fast paced, fun and light game that is quick to learn, easy to understand and somehow manages to evoke an awesome cinematic feel. As a bonus the models are absolutely gorgeous and generally very easy to assemble.
In the lead up to the demo's I was painting like a mad man and am still trying to keep up the same determination so I can get my whole collection painted. I picked up very nearly the whole Marvel line before they went out of stock as well as ordering my first DC team and have really enjoyed getting paint onto them. I do have to say that I still hate painting yellow and a disturbingly high number of super heroes seem to make use of it in their outfits. The current line up of painted models are below...
The Avengers.
The Dark Avengers
X-Men
The Guardians of the Galaxy
Some late comers to the Avengers and Dark Avengers.
Another Avenger and Guardian
The most recently painted Avengers.
My one and only DC team, The Crime Syndicate.
The hope is that as I get some more games in I will attempt to turn one of them into a battle report. Probably just some pictures with a run down rather than a video (because that would probably be much easier). So stay tuned, though you probably shouldn't hold your breath.
